Visiting Paris: some of the best spots!
I’ve been in Paris for a couple of months now, I think it’s time to mention some of the best spots you can find in this city.
1. Pont des Arts
2. Musée de L’Orangerie
It’s a tiny museum where you can find the famous murals with Monet’s Nymphéas (water lilies). It’s not the usual place where tourists go, but it’s definitwly worth visiting.
3. Parisian Autumn colors
This time of the year, trees are full of leaves, some ready to fall soon. Looks cool.
4. Musée D’Orsay
It used to be a train station. Now it’s a museum, a very good one. So good that in order to go in you have to queue up for hours.
5. Fresh Market on Rue de Rivoli
Every weekend at Place Baudoyer, you can find the freshest flowers, cheeses, fruit and all sorts of products. Sellers are very nice and always in a good mood. The only problem is the smell, but I’m guessing that’s not a problem for cheese-lovers.
6. Shakespeare Library
It’s a very old book shop in front of Notre Dame, where books are part of the furniture. It’s a very unusual place, where people come to read, they can participate in book readings, piano sessions or even use one of the few beds to spend the night. There are a couple of small spaces full of love messages on the walls, and everyone can leave their own.
7. Rue des Rosiers
Cute typical street in Le Marais. It’s a the best place to wander around, there are lots of good shops (some very expensive, others more affordable) and bars full of people sitting outside (as if it weren’t deadly cold).
8. Le Comptoir generale
I tried it on a sunday and there were african artists playing music. It’s a bar-association-restaurant-gathering room with random furniture and all sorts of young people.
9. Au P’tit Grec
They have the best crepes in Paris, located in the Quartier Latin. Salted or sweet, they are big and delicious. There is always a long queue, regardless of the hour. And, not only opens until very late, but also, it’s probably the cheapest dinner out in Paris.
