It’s skiing time – France, Meribel
After having some very funny weekends in Rio and trying the famous Brazilian Carnaval, I figured the best thing to do would be to make a drastic change in weather and go from 40ºC to -16ºC, literally!!!! And by that I mean going to the alps for skiing.
So, there I was in Belo Horizonte with a big dilema – meeting my friends for Carnaval in Rio or meeting my family from skiing in France. Two completely different options, and yet both great!
I ended up choosing ski, not only because I wanted to see my family, but also because the week we go skiing in Meribel is usually the best week of the year. Plus, I already had had some Carnaval time!!!
Anyway, this is a trip that we do every year, always in the same place and always the same rented chalet (for the ones interested, the company is Ski Basics). During that one week, our days are always the same – skiing from 9h30 to 5h. It’s great!!
Today, something unusual happened. We saw Luís Figo having lunch at the same restaurant we were in. We were probably the only Portuguese there and I don’t know if anyone else recognized him. However, we couldn’t let it go without approaching him and say something to the former World’s Best Football Player!!!
PS: For the snow lovers, Les 3 Vallées it’s a great place for skiing or snowboarding. The slopes are long and for all levels. And they’re in big quantity, so you never get bored!!
